Mitsotakis: We want to make the lives of our citizens better

"I always learn from what other countries do well and Cyprus has every reason to be extremely proud of what it has achieved in terms of the economy," he pointed out.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in the dialogue he had in front of the television cameras with Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulidis at the Presidential Mansion in Nicosia on Wednesday, thanked the President of the Republic of Cyprus for the welcome and underlined that this meeting has a different character from their previous meetings.

"Because it is taking place in the context of the 2nd Intergovernmental meeting and I think this has a special significance", noted the prime minister.
Mitsotakis said that there are already significant measurable results as a culmination of the excellent cooperation between the two governments.

He also said that these meetings are also of special interest to him. "I always learn from what other countries do well and Cyprus has every reason to be extremely proud of what it has achieved in terms of the economy," he pointed out.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to both national issues and international developments. "Obviously we will also discuss the major national issues in the midst of a very turbulent geopolitical situation. We will have the opportunity to have the trilateral meeting with the King of Jordan", he noted and then spoke about the latest developments in the Middle East.

"I want to express my satisfaction that a ceasefire appears to have been reached in Lebanon, which will allow in practice, with measurable results, the implementation of an old UN Security Council decision. I think it is an important first step to defuse this regional crisis and I think we should turn our attention to achieving a similar truce in Gaza so that this humanitarian tragedy can stop and our wider neighborhood can return to a state of peace and a state of balance," he stressed.

The prime minister also said that Greece and Cyprus are always factors of stability in the wider region and that this is recognized by its partners in NATO, by its partners in the EU, by the USA.

"We will always be coordinated to be able to strengthen our common geopolitical footprint," he emphasised.
