The 105 will be held in 16 jails throughout Greece, split into groups of 3. A group of 8 will be detained at the Avlona jail and another group of 6 will be held in Korydallos jail.

The new service, the announcement said, is expected to significantly facilitate access and improve the experience of visitors to the sites, as they can avoid long queues and pay for their tickets with their cards, phones or smart watches.

As for the ETCS, the minister reported rapid progress and said that this was expected to operate along the entire length of the line from SKA to Thessaloniki by the end of November, earlier than initially estimated.

The Greek police have set up road blocks throughout Greece, especially at the borders and exits, in order to arrest those that participated in the deadly incidents.

In a statement, the minister said that the government wants to find a realistic solution for 2023 that will not burden the public. "The state will exhaust all options it has to achieve the suspension of the companies' unilateral actions," he said.

The funds for investments financed from the Public Investments Programme will rise to 8.0 billion euros, while 4.34 billion euros will be given via the Recovery fund.

The number of employed persons amounted to 4,189,862 persons, increased by 46,574 persons as compared with June 2022 (1.1%) and by 32,310 persons compared with May 2023 (0.8%).

"We have a great shortage of workers in the primary sector on Crete - they cannot find laborers - while we have regions in Greece that register very high unemployment, such as western Macedonia", Labor Minister said.

Crete is the leading force in the Greek tourism sector as it will reach approximately 6 million arrivals, 10% up compared to last year. Mykonos and Santorini remain consistently high in popularity worldwide.

The annual bed occupancy rate in hotels and similar establishments was 51.1% in 2022 from 42.9% in 2021, while 59.1% of all arrivals and 66% of all overnight stays were recorded in the months from July until October.
