The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF), a member of the HCAP Group, launches the tender process for the new concession of Attica Motorway, one of the most important road infrastructures in Greece.
HRADF’s launched yesterday an international tender for the concession concerning financing, operation, maintenance, and exploitation of Attica Motorway for a duration of twenty-five (25) years.
Attica Motorway is a modern motorway extending along 70 km, constructed on a concession basis during the 1990s. It constitutes the ring road of the greater metropolitan area of Athens and the backbone of the road network of the whole Attica prefecture. It is an urban motorway with two separate directional carriageways, each consisting of 3 lanes and an emergency lane (hard shoulder). In addition, the suburban railway of Athens has been constructed in the central reservation of Attica Motorway.

Being a closed motorway, it has controlled access points and consists of two sections, which are perpendicular to one another: the Elefsina – Stavros – Spata A/P motorway, extending along approximately 52 km, and the Imittos Western Peripheral Motorway, extending along approx. 13 km. In addition, part of the Aegaleo Western Peripheral Motorway extending along around 5 km also forms part of the Attica Motorway.
HRADF’s tender process for the concession of Attica Motorway will be conducted in two phases: a pre-qualification phase and a binding offer phase. Interested parties are invited to submit their expression of interest no later than April 20, 2022. Details of the tender process are described in the Invitation, which is available on HRADF’s website.
