Theodorikakos: 3 bln euros incentives for productive investments

Theodorikakos also said that the regulations for the border areas will also concern Thessaly, which was affected by natural disaster.

Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos on Wednesday said that "the most important thing is to ensure that we will have growth, that our children will have jobs, that young people will stay in the border areas and that social and regional inequalities will continue to decrease", speaking to MEGA TV.

In the same context he underlined that "productive transformation means productive investments throughout the country and especially in the border areas, in all economic activities and with a focus on industry. We are pouring over 3 billion euros into the market via incentives and tax exemptions, facilitation of the procedures and improvement of the infrastructure in order to facilitate productive investments in green and digital transition".

Theodorikakos also said that the regulations for the border areas will also concern Thessaly, which was affected by natural disasters, and he particularly focused on the regulations for market emblematic investments, citing as an example the investment by METLEN for the construction of military vehicle frames in the industrial area of Volos.

"This does not mean that tourism is downgraded, on the contrary we want it to continue to increase quantitatively and qualitatively, but it cannot be a monoculture," he clarified, and announced that in the next two week the results of the two rounds of the tourism of 2022 investment law will be announced. "The new status quo will start in February. The resources exist in the sectoral development programme and they are all within the framework of the obligations of the medium-term programme," concluded Theodorikakos.
