Greece's balance of trade deficit dropped by 9,8% in June 2024 as compared with the same month in 2023, the Hellenic Statistical Authority announced on Wednesday. The value of imports dropped 2,5% in the same period, while the value of exports increased 2,1%.
According to ELSTAT, the deficit of the trade balance in June 2024 amounted to 2.3536 billion euros, in comparison with 2.6107 billion euros in June 2023, recording a drop of 9,8%. The corresponding value of deficit excluding oil products in June 2024 recorded an increase of 92.8 million euros or 4,4% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships in June 2024 recorded an increase of 96.9 million euros or 4,7%, in comparison with June 2023.
The total value of imports in June 2024 amounted to 6.6103 billion euros, in comparison with 6.7796 billion euros in June 2023, recording a drop of 2,5%. The corresponding value excluding oil products in June 2024 recorded a drop of 139 million euros or 2,6% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships in June 2024 recorded a drop of 159.4 million euros or 3%, in comparison with June 2023.
The total value of exports, in June 2024 amounted to 4.2567 billion euros in comparison with 4.1689 billion euros in June 2023, recording an increase of 2.1%. The corresponding value excluding oil products recorded in June 2024 a drop of 231.8 million euros or 7,3% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships in June 2024 recorded a drop of 256.3 million euros or 8,1%, in comparison with June 2023.
