The energy minister, Mr. K. Skrekas, said that the four storage tanks will ensure natural gas supplies are adequate in case flows from abroad are interrupted.

Εnvironment and Energy Minister said that "we have already quadrupled the RES installments in the last three years with a double result. Firstly, we gave a boost to the change of the energy production mixture and secondly, we achieved substantial savings for the citizens".

Environmnent & Energy Minister Kostas Skrekas noted that the government is systematically preparing to ensure the country's energy sufficiency, considering even the most unfavorable scenarios.

The government aspires with the combination of measures implemented in the wholesale and retail market to absorb more than 70 pct of the price increase and to reduce  the cost of the kilowatt-hour close to the level of last autumn.

The losses resulted from a significant increase in operating expenditure of 1.18 billion euros. Remarkably, expenses increased by 133% compared to the first quarter of 2021, while turnover increased by 102%.

The prime minister emphasised that 90 pct of the excess profits of energy companies will be subjected to emergency taxation and return to the state budget.

Prime Minister said that as long as this upheaval lasts, there will be a not-at-all insignificant support from the state to help you with your costs and added that from the beginning of January there will be a state subsidy for energy costs for all production units.

The construction of the Alexandroupolis Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal will actively contribute to the country's energy security, liquidity and efficiency and will strengthen Greece's strategic role in SE Europe.

As there is still no agreement between Gazprom and DEPA on supply prices for next year, the Prime Minister stressed that for 30 years Russia has been a reliable supplier of natural gas and Greece, in turn, is also a reliable partner.

A typical example is a manufacturing company, with an annual turnover of 1.5 million euros, which received an electricity bill with an increase of 127%.
